 Celibacy

What is the real purpose of religious celibacy? I know that the idea is to keep the individual focused on spiritual issues and not be distracted by wordly cares, but it also acts to separate individuals from the community of faith. The joy of finding your place within the community of God can only be realized through interaction amongst equals. There is little room for interaction if there is someone in charge.

 The Purest Faith

The purest faith is one that isn't contained within four walls. It doesn't require money to nurture it. The early churches were simply groups of believers coming together to share in the word of God. I want to see a return to this natural faith, one that isn't disrupted by ceremony. Each of us has the God spirit within. Together we can seek it out, give it direction and a place to grow.

 Inspirational Messages

It's much easier to "tune in" to spiritual information when you take yourself out of your normal element. While camping last night, I had a dream in which two spiritual women, one from an unnamed Christian denomination, and one a Catholic nun said, "a candidate for the kinder than you think you are club." Does this mean that by constantly analyzing spiritual issues I'm harder on myself than necessary? Does it mean to lighten up?

 Making Progress

Last night, in a dream, Christ appeared to me three times. Each time, he said, "I am with you." I was so excited that I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. I don't really know what to think of this, but I hope that it means that I'm making progress!

 Urim and Thumimm

I was reading from the Book of Mormon....... I found it interesting that The ancient divining stones of the Israelites, the Urim and Thumimm were found by Joseph Smith along with the plates that were translated into the Book of Mormon. Just another example of how the spiritual heritage of mankind is one continuous story, it is all inter-related.
